TRANS magazine – 5th Edition

About the Project:
TRANS Magazine is a Dutch and English annual paper magazine as well as an online magazine made by (trans)gender diverse people. TRANS Magazine wants to inspire and offer recognition. It is our mission to normalise gender diversity, by giving a platform to many different perspectives by many different lived experiences.
The TRANS Magazine-project offers 15-25 participants the opportunity to work together on nuanced perspectives on gender diversity every year. We create a diverse team of starting writers, experienced editors, designers and visual makers, which then together decides on the content of TRANS Magazine.
We organise editorial meetings on a regular basis, on which we discuss potential subjects. Individually or in duos the team works on their respective content, for which the editor-in-chief offers in depth support. The team is also responsible for social media posts and keeping the website up to date.
Working on TRANS Magazine is described as a gender euphoric experience, because: you can do what you’re good at, and work together, without having to explain yourself. You can just ‘be’.
Apart from organising team building activities, we also meet media professionals (with trans experience or with feeling for this theme) who support our production process with their knowledge and experience. This happens through inspiring group discussions, master classes, and individual feedback.
